Skool of Moto

Skool of Moto is a hidden gem for off-road rider training. Nestled between the high mountains and stunning desert terrain of Western Colorado, our training facility is on a working farm where we teach off-road motorcycle riding skills on dirt bikes with small class sizes and big fun.

Our vibe is different

We focus on growing your bike handling capabilities and boosting your confidence, in a casual, low-key environment.  You won’t find ex-racers, big egos or attitudes at Skool of Moto. Our coaches have a passion for helping people improve, as riders, and we do so in a fun and positive environment. Our curriculum centers on learning the fundamentals of bike control in a series of slow speed drills and activities at our rider-training ranch. You can expect to develop improved skills, become more comfortable riding in off-road terrain, and have a few laughs while doing it!

Private instruction on the ranch is catered to the riders skills and personal goals.

Small class sizes

We focus on private and small group instruction. We find that students make the biggest gains in small groups where our instructors can provide personalized coaching, and students can learn in a fun low-pressure environment. You can come solo for a private training or put together your own group of up to four riders. We offer single-day training, which is comprised of a 4-hour session at our facility, or multi-day training programs which combine training at our facility with out-rides on incredible off-road terrain which gives students the opportunity to practice their new skills in real-world environments.

Rider training ranch

Our facility is on an old roping ranch, with plenty of wide-open space that we’ve utilized to create the ultimate moto-training campus. We have a large outdoor arena that is perfectly groomed for slow-speed fundamentals training. We also have a skill-building course with a range of terrain features that help prepare riders to tackle the challenges off-road riding and motorcycle adventures.

Rental bikes

No bike? No problem! Skool has dirt bikes available to rent if you currently don’t own a motorcycle, or prefer not to haul yours out to our facility. Some riders who have larger adventure touring bikes, find it easier to try new things and develop their skills with our lightweight dirt bikes. We have a fleet of Beta off-road motorcycles available.

Who goes to Skool?

As a woman-owned rider training operation, we initially attracted many female students and have built a strong track-record of results and positive experiences for our ladies. The word got out about how much fun the women were having at Skool, and these days nearly half of our students are men. We specialize in teaching new and intermediate riders who want to improve their capabilities and confidence when venturing off-pavement. Whether you are new to dirt or looking to tune-up your skills for riding a Backcountry Discovery Route, Skool can get you ready to explore the world on 2-wheels.

Smith Mountain Jeep Road is just a short ride from campus with incredible views of the Gunnison Gorge.

Donni Reddington, Founder & Lead Trainer

A life-long adventurer, Donni has always loved the outdoors. From her childhood exploring on the farm, to climbing alpine peaks as an adult, or riding dirt bikes in Baja, she has always said yes to the adventure. In 2018, she followed her passion for motorcycles by founding Skool of Moto. Her unique approach and effective teaching style has been so successful that student demand led her to phase out of her medical profession to teach Moto full time. When not riding motorcycles, she can be found training her mustang, slinging hay bales on the ranch, or out playing in the mountains.
